The Philly POPS Christmas Spectacular Takeover

It's glitter. It's fabulous. It's the Christmas Spectacular. We think it's only right that we take it over.

Philadelphia's most treasured holiday musical tradition continues with the return of celebrated conductor David Charles Abell — back by popular demand because (1) he’s fabulous (2) he’s gay (3) he looks like this. As if that wasn’t enough, this year brings the special addition of vocalist Hugh Panaro, Broadway's current Phantom of the Opera! Experience the magic of the season as the POPS' present beloved tunes in exciting arrangements, with over 300 musicians, remarkable choirs, and the ever-popular audience sing-along — as well as some surprises along the way.

We're taking it over on Wednesday, December 10. We've got 20% off tickets, but only 40 spots. Join dozens of TWCers and make the Yuletide gay! Reindeer sweaters, candy cane earrings, and big red bows are welcome, if not obligatory

Date: Wednesday, December 10
Time: 8:00pm - 10:30pm
Location: Verizon Hall, Kimmel Center, 300 S. Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19102
Pre-party: Starts at 6:30pm at Fado Irish Pub, 1500 Locust St.
Seating: TWC is taking over Rows E & F in the 3rd Tier

Want to watch the POPS with your people? Sign up as a group.

  • If you're coming with friends and want to buy all the tickets at once, simply click "Participate as an individual" and purchase as many tickets as you need. Under this option you will need to pick up all tickets for your group on the night of the performance using your ID.

  • If you’d rather buy tickets individually, click "Create a group" to make a group that you can share with your friends. You'll be seated together at the show but each of you will need to pick up your tickets individually.

Want a preview of the show? Click here for an interview with Michael Krajewski, Musical Director. He uses the word “fabulous” at least three times so… there’s that.

Legendarily flamboyant Oscar Wilde was the toast of the literary world—until a scandalous love affair with Lord Alfred Douglas ruined his reputation and devastated his private life. Oscar chronicles the acclaimed writer’s trial and imprisonment for “the love that dare not speak its name.” In this beautifully tragic tale of self-expression and individual freedom, David Daniels electrifies the stage alongside Philadelphia favorite William Burden and Heidi Stober.

TWC scored an exclusive interview with the leads of OperaPhiladelphia's Oscar to talk shop about divas and human rights.

Date: Friday, February 13
Time: 8:00 PM
Runtime: 2:45
Location: Academy of Music
Pre-party: Standing O Bar & Bistro at 6:30
