El Yunque Rainforest tour with The Welcoming Committee. Friday, March 27th from 7:30am until 1pm.

This Yunque Rainforest Hiking Eco Guided Tour is the best way to hike & explore El Yunque. Nominated as one of the Seven Wonders of the world, this tropical rainforest was first set aside for protection by the Kingdom of Spain in 1876, making it one of the first natural reserves in the Western Hemisphere.

During the Hiking Eco Guided Tour you will hike and explore through the different zones of El Yunque rainforest. The experience begins with a visit to one majestic observation tower. The view is a breathtaking panoramic 360 degree of the rainforest and the Atlantic Ocean with some of the spanish and US Virgin Islands. From there we start our interpretation hike. During the hike the tour continues to a set of picture perfect waterfalls that are inside the forest through a hike in a single track trail. Always along the way the guide will be pointing out different plant species from medicinal to toxic and many more. In this pristine location you will have the time to climb into the clear clean waters and feel the vibe of "El Yunque".

It is also a naturalist’s delight, with a diverse native flora and fauna which includes many species found nowhere else on the planet. Its overall biodiversity is impressive: 225 native trees species, hundreds of ferns, bromelias, orchids, over 500 species of fungi, 16 amphibians species, 20 reptile species, 11 species of bats, and 68 species of birds, including rare endemics such as the endangered Puerto Rican parrot “Iguaca”.

After the hike will stop for lunch at a local restaurant with great service and good local classic Puerto Rican food. Lunch, along with all taxes and gratuities, are included in the price.
